They filled the skull with specialized ritual mixtures—such as blood, alcohol, poison, and parched grain—and charged it with intense mantras before flinging the contents onto the ground outside the monastery gates. This dramatic act symbolized the total destruction of spiritual obstacles and the immediate scattering of forces hostile to the Buddhist teachings, turning the peaceful monastic tool into a feared instrument of cosmic defense.
